SAFE
continues to oppose genetically modified/engineered
agriculture,
including trees.
SAFE was involved with the Board of Supervisor's passage
of a
resolution banning genetically engineered (GE) plants and
animals in
Trinity County. This makes Trinity County the second
county in the
nation to ban the growing of genetically engineered (GE)
plants and
animals. In the Dec '10/Jan '11 SAFE newsletter, there is an article about Assembly Bill 32 and Forest Carbon Offset Rules. Read the letter that S.A.F.E. signed onto that was sent to the California Air Resources Board. SAFE educates people about various environmental groups to problems and provides solutions to many of them. They work with other environmental groups to protect our natural resources, our national heritage and the future of our children. SAFE members are involved in public affairs, serving on committees, in government positions, in volunteer work both public and private, and in working in cooperation with other public interest groups to bring about a sustainable economy based upon sustainable resources.
